Article 5 of the NATO* treaty won’t be triggered if Russia attacks any member’s troops deployed to Ukraine, DPA reported, citing a German parliament expert group report. Reflecting the principle of collective defence all NATO members, Article 5 says an armed attack against one or more states shall be considered an attack against all. The expert report also assesses the possible consequences of France’s plans to send troops to Ukraine, however, it has not been published yet.
