Herman Li - Quick Improvised Guitar Solo

A week before Xmas, I had to judge a guitar solo competition called Strings On Fire. I had so much fun watching the entries; so I picked up an Ibanez J-Custom next to me, plugged it into my amp, and gave it a quick go myself just for fun. While playing, I had it recorded on a Zoom Q3 to test out this new camera. It turned out to be a lot of fun. Here is one of them for you to check out, after a few attempts of improvisation. (Note: the audio was recorded using the built-in video camera microphone.) Regarding the competition results, it was one of the hardest things I ever had to judge. There were so many great solos and it took me days to decide on the top 3. I had to take a few more things into account to help me make my final choice. Was the solo done in one take? Was string damping used? How many harmonies were on the backing track? In closing, I would like to congratulate all the players who entered as everyone did a great job. Herman Li, DragonForce
