Arcade Games of the 80s: 1985

A look at the arcade games that were released in 1985. Another banner year for the arcade world. Atari dropped their 4 player masterpiece Gauntlet; Sega gave us the cabinet monster Hang-On and Space Harrier and Konami introduced the world to the Gradius (Nemesis) series, as well as Rusn’n Attack/Green Beret! Interestingly, Konami also produced not 1, but two 1 vs 1 fighting games - Yie Ar Kung Fu and Galactic years before Capcom released their seminal Street Fighter series. Konami was ahead of the curve, and it is a shame that they didn’t continue with it...
