International Guest Webinar - Dr Murat Kuscu

The Internet of Nano Things (IoNT) is the heterogeneous communication network of nanoscale functional talk will start with a brief overview of the IoE and IoNT frameworks along with their potential applications and associated challenges. I will then review the state-of-the-art enabling technologies for IoNT, with a particular focus on my recent work towards nanoscale communications with Forster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), nanomaterial-based receivers for molecular communications (MC) with silicon nanowire and graphene biosensors, and MC detection and channel sensing techniques for bacteria-based biosynthetic transceivers. Lastly, I will briefly discuss future interdisciplinary research directions, such as the fabrication of multi-modal transceivers, design of bio-inspired genetic circuits for biosynthetic transceivers with IoE functionalities, ICT modelling and abstraction of human body nanonetworks, and development of IoNT-based diagnosis and treatment techniques for human body diseases.
