Asha ~ Golden brown

Asha (aka Asha Elijah & Asher Quinn) sings ’Golden brown’ by the Stranglers, from his album “Radio Starlight“. Album currently in production. CD/download when finished. This is my favourite pop-song of all time! Released in 1981, it climbed to number 2 in the charts. Even that detail made me feel connected to its story, as I tended to like things that reached number 2, rather than number 1. This meant that it was not truly mainstream, but belonged on ’the road less travelled’. When I was young, I used to come second in running races, rather than first; and be in the second stream at school rather than the top one. And my football team always came a gallant second, but didn’t win the championship. I usually identified with ’the alternative’, rather than the top position.
