1957 год. Торжественное открытие магазина, приуроченное к Международному фестивалю молодежи и студентов, состоялось 6 июня 1957 года. ЦДМ стал самым большим детским магазином в СССР и первым торговым сооружением, где были установлены эскалаторы. В магазине можно было найти товары для детей всех возрастов: игрушки, школьную форму, фототехнику, товары для творчества. 2012 год. ГК «Галс-Девелопмент» приступила к реконструкции «Центрального Детского Магазина». Работы проводились на основе первоначальных чертежей автора проекта – архитектора Алексея Душкина. За рекордные два года удалось восстановить керамическую облицовку фасада, отреставрировать гранитную облицовку и кирпичную кладку стен, воссоздать алюминиевые витражи и дубовые окна. 2023 год. Десятки праздничных мероприятий прошли в рамках 66-летия магазина. Главный атриум превратился в интерактивную площадку с яркими фотозонами и игровыми станциями. Впервые были организованы экскурсии по достопримечательностям магазина. А главным подарком гостям стало открытие новых уличных витрин ЦДМ в сказочной тематике. The year is 1957. The grand opening of the store, timed to coincide with the International Festival of Youth and Students, took place on June 6, 1957. The CDM became the largest children’s store in the USSR and the first commercial building where escalators were installed. In the store you could find goods for children of all ages: toys, school uniforms, photographic equipment, creative goods. The year is 2012. GC “Gals-Development“ has started the reconstruction of the “Central Children’s Store“. The work was carried out on the basis of the initial drawings of the author of the project, architect Alexei Dushkin. In a record two years, it was possible to restore the ceramic cladding of the facade, restore the granite cladding and brickwork of the walls, recreate aluminum stained glass windows and oak windows. The year is 2023. Dozens of festive events were held as part of the 66th anniversary of the store. The main atrium has turned into an interactive playground with bright photo zones and game stations. For the first time, guided tours of the store’s attractions were organized. And the main gift to the guests was the opening of new CDM street storefronts in a fairy-tale theme.
