Большой Казённый переулок. Большо́й Казённый переу́лок— улица в Басманном районе Центрального административного округа города Москвы. Проходит от Лялиной площади до улицы Земляной Вал. Большой Казённый переулок расположен перпендикулярно Земляному Валу. Улица переходит в Лялину площадь, соединяющую Садовое и Бульварное кольцо. Название переулок получил благодаря Казённой слободе, населённой ремесленниками и располагавшейся в этом районе четыре–пять веков назад. Улица застроена в основном зданиями, возведёнными в начале 1900-х годов. Особое внимание привлекает архитектура дома, в котором располагалась Елизаветинская женская гимназия. Здание было возведено по проекту известного архитектора И.И. Рерберга. Притягивает взоры и здание, расположенное на пересечении с Лялиным переулком. Дом возведён по проекту П.А. Заруцкого, имеет множество архитектурных украшений. По углам здания располагаются эркеры с куполами. Переулок начинается от Лялиной площади — места, где Барашёвский переулок пересекается с Лялиным и переходит в Большой и Малый Казённые переулки. Проходит на восток параллельно Малому Казённому и Яковоапостольскому переулкам и заканчивается на пересечении с улицей Земляной Вал. Bolshoi Kazenny Lane. Bolshoi Kazenny Lane is a street in the Basmanny District of the Central Administrative District of Moscow. It runs from Lyalina Square to Zemlyanoy Val Street. Bolshoi Kazenny Lane is located perpendicular to Zemlyanoy Val. The street turns into Lyalina Square, connecting the Garden and Boulevard Rings. The lane got its name thanks to the Kazyonnaya Sloboda, inhabited by artisans and located in this area four to five centuries ago. The street is mainly lined with buildings erected in the early 1900s. Particular attention is drawn to the architecture of the house in which the Elizabethan Women’s Gymnasium was located. The building was erected according to the design of the famous architect I.I. Rerberg. The building located at the intersection with Lyalin Lane also attracts the eye. The house was built according to the design of P.A. Zarutsky, has many architectural decorations. There are bay windows with domes at the corners of the building. The lane starts from Lyalina Square - the place where Barashevsky Lane intersects with Lyalin and turns into Bolshoi and Maly Kazenny lanes. It runs east parallel to Maly Kazenny and Yakovoapostolsky lanes and ends at the intersection with Zemlyanoy Val Street.
