How to use the Irish stick for combat (Bataireacht)

I was asked a question about how to use Irish stick fighting for combat. Here is my reply. I hope this answers the question. Please note even though I have 45 years in the martial arts I am not an expert in Bataireacht nor am I an Instructor in this system. I apply my past experience to what I have learned to generate power and use the applications. I practice the Doyle system of Bataireacht.
