The Jane Austen House and Museum are located in Chawton, Hampshire. Jane Austen lived in this house in the latter part of her life. The Jane Austen House is a fascinating look at the Life of Jane Austen and gives you insight into her days spend here. The museum holds many personal possessions and the famous writing desk from which she wrote, Northanger Abbey, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma and Persuasion. We take you on a full room by room tour of the house explaining all the interesting stories and features of the Chawton Cottage. This is part of our Jane Austen mini-series in which we walk in the footsteps of Jane Austen from birth to death visiting some of the amazing places she lived or visited. ****Note an error in the facts**** A picture we show of Jane in the bedroom as drawn by Cassandra is actually of Jane’s Niece and not the correct photo as purchased by the National Gallery. Sorry for the confusion.
