More details: A powerful storm system flooded San Diego County, with heavy rains Monday causing flooded roads, causing car crashes and water rescues across San Diego Morning commuters were hit by the severe storm, which prompted several flash flood warnings across the county. By midday, San Diego city officials were urging people to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. A flash flood warning was in effect for parts of North County, including Ocean, Carlsbad, Vista and Solana Beach. The warning was widespread in Chula Vista, San Diego according to the National Weather Service. Flash floods swamped homes and overturned cars in San Diego as torrential rain swept across much of the U.S., toppling trees and flooding streets across California.
