The 1920’s Fashion Revolution | Remastered Film 1929
Look how fast fashion evolved from 1914 to the late 1920’s! This was made in 1929 and looks back at the previous 15 years.
WW1 influenced a new line in women’s style. Initially a military influenced style. Then gradually a rise in dress hems and more natural shapewear using the flat tummy corset. By 1929, the style was the gamine silhouette of the flapper.
We see some fine examples of the gatsby dress, evening dress and even a smart pajama suit!
The original newsreel footage can be found in the Prelinger Archive.
