DECORTICATION

This decortication is historically the first recorded epic of Department of thoracic surgery, the procedure is performed by Professor Sultan Muzaffar. Decortication is performed on patients of empyema thoracis whose lung gets trapped in the fibrin sheath. Peeling off this layer releases the lung and allows adequate lung expansion.
