The Day Before Live Aid - Backdrops painted as Status Quo soundcheck

Cliff painting his backdrops (with help from some friends) serenaded by Status Quo. Wot mullet? Cliff says “ I got the drawings on Wednesday (10th July) morning and, with Graham Osborne, a real trooper, we worked with hardly a rest until the Friday. Hence my rather strained expression. We delivered the drapes to Wembley Friday morning painted just white, as per instruction. The idea was mooted about having the flags of every nation on the rectangles. Oh, how we laughed. I think the rainbow effect we ended up with was better anyway.“
