China’s Forgotten War 04: 800 Heroes

On 1945/08/15, Japan announced unconditional surrender. This marks the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan of China. However, this war can never be forgotten. In October 1937, after 3 months of intense fighting, Shanghai is about to fall to the Japanese. The surviving Chinese troops must withdraw from the city. One company, known as the 800 heroes, gives the retreating men cover from the Sihang Warehouse. The short video series, “China’s Forgotten War“ expounds on a number of major events during the war.
