Dulwich, London.
Various shots of a charity cricket match held at Dulwich to raise funds for the Star and Garter home for disabled servicemen. The two teams are named the Waistcoat Club and the Handlebar Club.
The teams walk onto the pitch. Mad player with a hefty moustache and beard bounds across the ground. Shots of Waistcoat and Handlebar spectators. Handlebar president and (sports?) commentator Raymond Glendenning carries a roast bird on a tray past wheelchair bound ex-servicemen. Others sit watching. Glendenning is joined by radio and television actress Joan Gilbert of the Waistcoats who then opens the batting.
Several shots of the match. Radio comedian Al Read joins the Waistcoats to bat and signs autographs afterwards. The Handlebars arrive on the pitch in an open car and take their turn at batting.
Notes, correspondence and cutting on file.
