MS Sir Thomas Macdonald High Commissioner of New Zealand opens the show and inaugurates the now permanent site. Various GVs of the showground with visitors walking, seated or riding on, the tractor drawn bus service. Var. poor shots of visitors watching horse judging. Var. shots on the rural industries stands of blacksmith at work shoeing a horse and prize winning entries in the wrought iron work competition. MS A ’grafter’ at work selling non-stick saucepans (mute). Var. poor shots of horse jumping competition in progress. One of the two riders seen is Barry Royston, son of Bill Royston of Badminton fame. Var. MS’s types watching. Var. shots man demonstrates the features of a combine harvester while young lad sits in the driving seat and dreams of having a go.
