2023 BMW M2 driven - the best M car yet? Autocar

Who doesn’t love a small, sporty BMW? Ever since the launch of the fantastic 1M in 2011, the firm has proven time and time again that it can apply the same treatment that made the M3 and M4 so popular to its more compact (and cheaper) models. In fact, these miniature M machines tended to be something of a different breed to their more powerful brothers - they were more playful, more agile, and we’d even go as far to say that they were just a bit more fun. That could be about the change though with the launch of this - the new BMW M2. Unlike its predecessors, it shares a whole host of equipment with the more powerful models further up the food chain. It’s heavier, too - at 1725kg, it’s 150kg more than the old model. But is it still as fun to drive? Join Richard Lane as he finds out. New videos are uploaded to Autocar each week.
