Wu Style Taiji of Yang Yu Ting(Part 1)

Wang Fu Qi does the Tai Chi of Yang Yu Ting (1887-1982). Sifu Yang was not the warlord who collaborated with the Japanese and died in 1929. Instead this is the teacher of Li Bing Zi (for 37 years) and many others. Yang worked with Wong Mao Zhai. Yang was a top teacher in Beijing. He gained a good understanding of Quan You’s tyle from studying with Wong. Later he became vice chairman of the Beijing Martial Arts Association. This popular teacher and standardizer instructed Wang Pei Sheng, Li Jing Wu, and Li Bing Zi. His student, Wang Fu Qi, was a collaborator with Li Bin Zi on a text devoted to Tai Chi and weapons. This double disk set does indeed have a large section of instructional material, in Chinese, from Wang himself discussing the basic principles of good Tai Chi he learned from Yang Yu Ting. Then there is instruction on his classical, inclined Wu style of Tai Chi. Occasionally there are inserted sections of Wang as a younger man when the form requires a more energetic representation.
