Sparks Fly At UN General Assembly During Discussion On Palestine’s Failed UN Membership Bid

The United Nations General Assembly discussed Palestine’s failed UN membership bid. The discussion took place against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Gaza, sparked by the bloody 7 October Hamas-led attacks on Israel. During a Council meeting on 18 April, the US vetoed a draft resolution that recommended that the General Assembly should hold a vote to allow Palestine full UN membership. It was convened “as the divisions in the Security Council persist and hinder the Council’s ability to effectively discharge its responsibilities,” Assembly President Dennis Francis said in remarks read on his behalf. #SparksFly #UNGeneralAssembly #Palestine #UNMembership #DiplomaticDiscussion #InternationalRelations #MiddleEast #UnitedNations #PoliticalDebate #ConflictResolution Hindustan Times Videos brings all the News for the Global Indian under one umbrella.
