A song by British rock band The Kinks. It was released as a single in 1967 and featured on their album Something Else by The Kinks. Composed and produced by Kinks frontman Ray Davies, “Waterloo Sunset“ is one of the band’s best known songs. Davies sang it as part of the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics. A little shaky perhaps, but sent shivers down my spine.
Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, make me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I don’t need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look
... at the world from my window
But chilly chilly is evening time
Waterloo sunset’s fineShow more
