Fender Highway One Strat - Guitar Repair & Demo

Let’s celebrate this guitar turning 20 years old by giving it a close look and some much needed TLC. The sound demo starts at 18min 5 seconds if you just want to skip ahead. The guitar got a cleaning, fret dress, all new electronics, re-string and set-up. The tuning machines were also de-burred and all the screws on the bridge were lubricated. Demo recording was done with a 1970 Fender Twin Reverb and a Shure MV88 microphone with an iPhone 13. The amp was loud and I had the mic input at -60db to avoid clipping. The recording didn’t translate the sound quite as well as I’d hoped. It’s better with the mic closer and amp a little quieter. Oh well.
