Ilya Kovalchuk | New Jersey Devils Highlights (2009-2013) | [HD]

Ilya Kovalchuk was a star player for the New Jersey Devils after mid-season trade brought him to Newark in 2010. Kovalchuk quickly became a polarizing player for the Devils, with a combination of speed, skill and power. New Jersey signed him to a monster contract of 17-year/$102 million. Then in 2013, in the prime of his career, Kovalchuk retired from the NHL, walking away from the Devils. Kovalchuk is now a figure of extreme scrutiny in the Devils fan base, and rightfully so. But rumors of his return (as of late February 2016) in the midst of a fallout from SKA St. Petersburg (KHL), has many fans, myself included, reminiscing about the superstar Russian winger’s days in New Jersey. Here are some highlights of his best goals and plays as a member of the New Jersey Devils. Song: “Give Me Back My Life“ by Papa Roach
