Russian ’robot’ thought to be real turns out to be man in suit

A “robot“ originally thought to possibly be real, after Russian state TV gave the impression it was, has been proven to be a man in a costume. During the broadcast, a correspondent for the station said the hope was more youth would get involved in robotics after seeing the state-of-the-art robot, appearing to suggest the robot was real. The broadcaster later claimed it knew from the beginning that the robot was not real and the reporter said he believed most people would assume it was an actor in a suit. The organizers of the youth tech forum also said they never claimed the robot was real.
