Chelsea Handler Discusses Her 2 Abortions At 16

In a recent essay, Chelsea Handler opened up about having two abortions when she was 16 years old. Handler wrote the essay for Playboy entitled “My Choice.“ She explained how her parents recognized that she wasn’t ready to be a mother at 16 and took her to Planned Parenthood. Handler wrote: “I felt parented, ironically, while I was getting an abortion. And when it was over, I was relieved in every possible way.“ She added: “Getting unintentionally pregnant more than once is irresponsible, but it’s still necessary to make a thoughtful decision.“ Handler credits Roe v Wade in her essay for giving her access to a safe and healthy abortion.
