How to Use Copan’s ESwab for Urethral Specimen Collection Using a Swab (Viewer Discretion Advised)

This video is intended for nurses, lab technicians and other clinical staff, and provides simple step-by-step instructions for using Copan’s ESwab™ for urethral swab collection. Specimen collection should be performed by health care personnel who have completed training and demonstrated competency. For best results, follow steps outlined in this video and briefly summarized here • Put on gloves • Clean the glans of the penis by wiping from front to back using a soaped pad or commercial skin cleanser • Open the peel pouch and remove the swab. • If exudate is available express from the urethra and collect on a regular sized swab. • If exudate is unavailable, insert the minitip sized swab about 2 CM into the urethra, gently rotate it to collect memrane associated cells and then remove it. • After collection, open the ESwab tube, and place the swab into the
