Cultural bridge united Sviyazhsk and the islands of Senegal (photo exhibition, Sviyazhsk, Tatarstan)

For the first time, a solid African landing party from four countries landed on the island-town of Sviyazhsk. In front of the Orthodox temples, the melodies of a distant continent sounded, and tourists saw the photo exhibition telling them about the islands of Gorée and Saint-Louis. These small islands are identical to Sviyazhsk in terms of their parameters. Gorée Island, discovered in the XV century and considered the largest center of the slave trade, and Saint-Louis, which was discovered in the XVII century, became related to Sviyazhsk with the help of a photo exhibition sent and through the personal perception. A few years ago, a delegation from Tatarstan headed by our President went to Senegal, met with the leadership of Senegal, as a result, a small cooperation protocol was born, and within the framework of this protocol, we went to Dakar for the Biennale of contemporary African art.
