105 BPM Funk Tutorial (Intermediate Level)

The MIDI File of my piano solo, a PDF Notation File and the Backing Track I used for this video are all available on my website at: From most of my other improvisations it should be quite evident that I am all about tension and resolve. In this exercise, I am playing over a simple C-7 to F7 vamp (with occasional G7alt turnaround) to demonstrate how to create an interesting improvisation by varying motifs, phrasing and rhythms, and at all times trying to create tension that leads to resolution.
