Huge Fire Ravages Poland Nature Reserve

Firefighters are battling massive wildfires ravaging Poland’s largest nature reserve, the Biebrza National Park, as the country faces its worst drought in years, Thursday, April 23. The fires began on Sunday, spreading across 6,000 hectares of the park. Poland’s environmental ministry believes illegal grass burning was the cause of the fire, with the situation aggravated by strong wind and the drought. Firefighters from surrounding cities arrived to help their local colleagues Wednesday. (AFP)
