The 600th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Katori Shinto-ryū

The 600th Anniversary of the Birth of lizasa Chōisai Commemorative Event was conducted on May 10 , 1987. It was a beautiful spring day . The event began with a service at Katori Jingü before moving to the Sawara Municipal Culture Hall for a demonstration event with 20 kobudo traditions including Katori Shinto - ryu . This was followed by a celebratory party . We had originally planned to hold the demonstration within the grounds of Katori Jingü , but decided on the Culture Hall following advice from Sawara City Hall . They reasoned that it would be the best option given the possibility of rain . The event was a resounding success . The venue was filled to capacity , with some attendees even standing to watch . At 10: 00 , my eldest son Ötake Nobutoshi delivered the event’s opening address as the organising committee chairperson , followed by the event chairperson , Iizasa Yasusada Söke’s speech.
