On 7/4/23, CPKC 254 derailed just west of the small town called Reeseville. There were no injury’s, and there was nothing hazardous involved, but it was a mess! I have never seen a train derailment like this before, once I heard about, I thought I’d leave it be since Reeseville is about and hour away, but I figured this probably won’t happen again for a long time near me. I got there about 2 hours after 254 derailed, and I was kind of shocked how many workers were already on scene. I mainly stuck to the main roads, but asked one person if I could film on there land, which they said yes to, so I got some nice shot’s of the whole pile up. I’m not sure what caused this, as I have heard many rumors. I’ll put it in the comments once I find out what the real cause was. It’s impressive to see just how mangled these huge train cars were, I have seen many trains. But I have never seen a actual derailment like this before. I hope everyone had a great Forth of July too!
