An Unexpected Twist In An Abandoned Mine: Part 2 of 2

Well, you can see how my assumption that there was nothing to that little “pocket“ turned out... This whole mining district was like that. Lots of little adits and mine shafts that seemed to interconnect at one time and held the promise of leading to something grand and glorious. Unfortunately, many of the most promising options ended up being caved or inaccessible for one reason or another. In fact, neither of our two main targets in this area worked out. The mine (or at least the area of a mine) featured in this video was just incidental to our trip. Of course, that’s how a lot of great mines we’ve stumbled across were discovered. It was pretty wild to me that we ended up on the other side of the mountain from making our way through the workings in this abandoned mine. A lot of the work seemed exploratory - as if the miners were just meandering around underground in hope of hitting a rich vein or pocket...
