Longplay in Poland immediately received the status of “gold“, since its circulation immediately exceeded 100 thousand copies. The composition from this record “Everybody Join Us” was released in Holland as a separate “forty-five” and hit the Dutch charts, which for the group from the Hungarian People’s Republic, which managed to break out of the dense communist “iron curtain”, is a very, very good indicator. The General group was formed in Budapest in early December 1971. The core of the band was composed of musicians from the Hungarian bands “Ze-Ge” and “Ferm”. And it was all of them at that time — 20 years and a little more, with the exception of Shandor Revesh, who was barely 18, for which he earned the nickname “Kolyok” (cub). Soon the backing girls joined the “General” and formed a creative vocal faction called “Mikrolied”. After the first series of concerts and the release of their debut album in 1973, no one even thought that they would go down in the history of world rock. But they gave concerts in Italy, England. And everywhere and always they were enduring success. The audience warmly welcomed them and accompanied them with delight. Their talent was compared, with the already famous at that time, “Illes” and “Omega”. However, after 1975, the creative power of this group has largely weakened. The group was left first by Sandor Reves, who joined the musical group Piramis, and then Janos Karashoni, recruited to Locomotiv GT. The vocal group “Mikrolied” in 1976 went on an independent voyage, later one of her soloists will appear in the composition of the “Neoton Familia”. In 1977, he emigrated from the group to “LGT” Janos Solti. The instability of the composition apparently turned out to be the irresistible force that led the General group to its final disintegration in 1979. However, the fashionable craze of nostalgic comebacks did not bypass the group, and she again appeared on the scene of the Budapest Sportcsarnok on September 18, 1999. After 24 years, they were greeted no less cordially. The audience was delighted.
