DPRK leader vows to step up nuclear arsenal

Kim Jong Un, leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), said the country will speed up development of its nuclear arsenal. In his remarks at a military parade in Pyongyang on Monday, Kim vowed to “strengthen and develop“ the country’s “nuclear capabilities at the fastest pace“. He said the DPRK’s nuclear force was meant to serve as a deterrent but it could be used for other means as well.
