World Comes Together For Turkey’s Rescue | Turkey Earthquake 2023 LIVE Updates | English News LIVE Rescue workers in the town of Kirikhan in southern Turkey were on Thursday (February 9) working around the clock to free a 40-year-old woman named Zainab who has been stuck under debris since a deadly earthquake hit the region on Monday (February 6). Bastian Herbst, a doctor working on site with International Search and Rescue (ISAR), said the teams had been working 36 hours to save Zainab and were trying to keep her talking and drinking. “Her injury status is currently not clear but she is seemingly able to move her limbs. She has been buried here since the start of the quake, so almost 72 have several layers of thick concrete on top of her.
