The story of the song: When I wrote it, I was picturing a story. The beginning is kind of the “acceptance“ of what happened... A man’s wife was murdered and he takes that breath of acceptance. And then it slams into the chords/taps with a fury, feeling the sudden rush of vengeance... then it goes into the bass-slappy part where our character is in motion, beginning the plan/journey... the pre-chorus builds him closer and closer to his final moment in the end of the chorus, when.... flashback.... to repeating the song, like a memory of how and why he got to where he is now... this time, when he gets to the chorus he continues into the bridge and the end of the song, with all his rage and emotions overflowing, until finally, he kills the adversary... and his heart may finally rest.
