Painting a landscape en plein air in oils overlooking Carrick Roads, Cornwall.
It was late morning and I found a superb location (after eating my Cornish pasty!) with a view over the Fal River towards St Just in Roseland. The shadows cast by the January low morning sun, gave a lovely cool contrast to the warmer greens on the grass. The leafless Winter trees along the hedgerow gave me a great view through to the bright blue water.
I enjoyed painting this on location with my oil paints, despite several distractions. It was a glorious winter day with bright colours. This painting will feature in my solo exhibition at Royal Cornwall Museum taking place July - December 2022. The theme is the Carrick Roads. From Falmouth to Truro. More to follow on this......

Bye for now - Andrew
