Art is not optional, is the point, art is not a luxury need for the time that your lower level needs are being met, art is a foundation, and we might not realize how much we needed for day-to-day maintenance of our basic needs, there’s a sense of aesthetics to existence, which cannot be ignored, and we usually don’t even realize how much we starve for good art. one definition of art could be a love of the craft. That builds skill over time, just like philosophy is a love of wisdom. There’s no end point that you earned or done or arrived , it is the process of it.
