I’m thankful I was able to react with enough time to just miss him. If he continued to pull out instead of hitting the brakes, I would have hit him. Personally, I can say that for me, incidents like these are the main source of danger when riding in the city. It’s difficult to get into an accident when you give yourself plenty of time to react in normal scenarios, but sometimes that luxury isn’t afforded to you when something really unexpected and sudden happens.
