MILO’S SORE TUMMY Milo doesn’t feel like going to school and claims he’s got a sore stomach. Vanessa checks his temperature. He’s got no fever, but she agrees to let Milo stay home from school, as long as he rests. Milo is clearly delighted with this outcome. Before long, however, Milo gets bored staying in his bedroom. The weather outside is beautiful and Milo sure would love to run and play in the yard. Vanessa forbids him from leaving the house. He can leave his bed for only one thing: lunch in the kitchen. Milo quickly realises that there’s a price to having a sore tummy: he can’t eat pizza, which is his favourite food. The day is very long for Milo and boredom has completely set in. He asks Vanessa if he can go to school for the afternoon. No way, his mother tells him! She wants him to rest. Milo soon realises the error of his ways. It’s much better to go to school rather than stay home and be bored beyond belief.
