Hi guys! I’m back with another slab tutorial. This time, I want to teach you how I make grains on my slab that mimic wood.
For this project, I used the following colors of polymer clay:
white, black, pink, peach, mint green and mauve
You will also need:
clay blade
clay roller
What to do:
1. Condition all the clay. Roll out the accent colors into the number 8 setting.
2. Roll out the slab into the number 3 setting.
3. Use the white accent color first, and alternate it with the rest of the colors. Wood grain is achieved with alternating light and dark colors, so I’m using white as my light color, and the rest of the accent colors as my dark colors.
4. Once you’ve piled up the colors, you can go ahead and cut thin slices of them.
5. Place each slice on the main slab and once the slab is covered, carefully roll it out into the number 3 setting again.
You can use different color combinations for this and come out with so many interesting results.
