3D Gaussian splats, like NeRFs or photogrammetry methods, are a way to create a photorealistic 3D scene using a set of 2D images. Its results are absolutely mind blowing. The paper describing this method was recently published at SIGGRAPH last month. After watching a few videos, we knew we had to experiment it ourselves. We experimented based on three different scenes: a daytime setting, a nighttime setting, and an aerial drone shot.
