This video presents all number one songs of the 1980s ranked by peak, not by points nor chronologically. Please note that to be eligible for this chart, the song did not necessarily have to be released or charting in the eighties, but reach its peak position that decade. Ties between songs were broken by considering these criteria, in order: weeks in the Top 10, weeks in the Top 40, and weeks on the entire Hot 100 Singles chart. However, the video only shows the year it reached number one and each song’s peak position. This channel does not own the songs and the video has been created for research/information purposes.
