Snow Petrel, rare sighting on land at sea level.

It is rare to see a Snow Petrel on land at sea level. They are more noramlly seen flying or snowbathing in the high mountains or out at sea, commonly around large icebergs. This bird was possibly a newly fledged and inexperienced youngster. Two were seen that morning together in the same place, close to the hurch in the old whaling station at Grytviken.
