Successful Eco-friendly Drop Test

On December 6th, 2021, Klaus Space Transportation GmbH successfully conducted a drop test of an Inflatable Atmospheric Decelerator (IAD) scale model. Our vision is to make space transportation sustainable. Currently, most rocket stages are expended after a single use. With IAD technology, rocket stages can be made reusable. This is similar to propulsive landing (SpaceX), but it does not use any fuel - therefore it is more eco-friendly and also more lightweight. In fact, it is so lightweight that it can be used to make small launchers reusable. IADs also have the advantage that they can be used to recover rocket upper stages and cargo from orbit. We are developing a scalable system that can be used to return any cargo from space to Earth safely - from shoebox-sized experiments to largest rocket stages.
