A cooler way to transport electricity

A new superconducting electrical transmission line for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider uses new materials, a new cooling system and unprecedented technologies. This superconducting line is the first of its kind and allows vast quantities of electrical current to be transported within a pipe of a relatively small diameter.
