Animation vs. Math | ANALYSIS and EXPLANATION

This is an analysis of “Animation vs. Math“ by @alanbecker. I dive into the mathematical concepts featured in the video and attempt to explain how everything works. Although I (may have) discovered several major errors within the video, the animation is still excellent as with all of Alan’s (and his team’s) other animations. None of my points are meant to downplay the excellence and creativity of this animation. Corrections: - 10:53 - I meant to say “what he did here was theta divided by the radius,” not “arclength divided by the radius” which would have been the correct way to do it. To clean my argument up: the animation did theta/radius instead of arclength/radius. - 7:46 - The unit circle in the animation is correct and is a unit circle in the complex plane. General corrections: - Infinity for sums and integrals - I’ve been told by numerous commenters that you’re actually allowed to put infinity for sums and integrals. I wasn’t aware of this because I’ve always been taught to strictly show the limit. Thanks to everyone who corrected me!
