City bus stops moments before potentially fatal motorcycle accident
A city bus driver’s “quick reactions” were credited with preventing a grim accident in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after a motorcycle passenger fell off a bike directly in front of the bus on Saturday, October 21, according to the City of Hot Springs.
Dashcam footage posted to Facebook by the City of Hot Springs shows a person swerving a motorcycle into the right lane to avoid hitting a car, causing his passenger to fall off the bike directly in front of a bus, which quickly comes to a stop. Another motorist and the motorcycle driver can be seen rushing over to help the woman who fell from the bike.
The bus driver told local outlet KARK that she braked as hard as she could when she saw the woman fall into her lane.
The motorcycle passenger received medical treatment at a hospital and was later discharged, the city said, adding that the accident is still “under investigation.”
The city said on Facebook that the motorcycle passenger “was inches away from a tragedy if not for the swift actions of the bus driver, Ms Michelle Ramon.”
