Fred Astaire’s Dancing & Golf Tricks

On April 15, 1938, dancer/golf trick shot artist Fred Astaire performed an entertaining tap dancing golf sequence in the movie “Carefree.“ Astaire recalled, “I did a few impromptu rhythm steps just before hitting one off the tee, and was surprised to find that I could really connect that way.“ He demonstrated for the director of the movie, and they incorporated it into the film.
