“I Am the Earth“ is a 1963 Soviet patriotic song written by Yevgeniy Dolmatovsky in honor of the Soviet space programme. The lyrics recall a conversation between the Earth and a Soviet cosmonaut and recall the history and the ambitions for the future of the Soviet space programme. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, however, “I Am the Earth“ fell out of popularity, only being remembered by those alive during the 1960s and 70s, and Soviet nostalgists. (English Subtitles)
