An elderly man was rescued from a burning apartment building in Brockton, Massachusetts. Heather Holmes filmed the dramatic rescue as it happened.
Paul Mulloy, 82, was removed from a balcony on the third floor of the building. Mulloy was unable to get out on his own and sustained major injuries by the time firefighters arrived, according to local reports. Mulloy’s family stated that the 82-year-old had burns on 35 percent of his body.
The firefighters involved in the rescue, Lieutenant Christopher O’Reilly and Firefighter Zachery Davis, suffered second-degree burns and were being treated at the hospital.
The fire was reported by a passerby, according to Brockton Fire Deputy Chief Charles Davis. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
